It has the picatiny rails on all 4 sides of the foregrip....don't think I need those - but I do want to put optics on it in the future. I'd have to say that the biggest difference between the NM and standard models is the bedding. I'm not saying that a quality barrel isn't important, but the foundation of accuracy in an M1A is a good bedding job. If you're serious about shooting the M1A in competition, then spend the money and get the NM model.
